Box Elder County Fair August 2009

The fair was great this year. It was a learning experience for all of us. The cows were HUGE! "Harry", Brenden's calf, weighed in at 622lbs. Brenden received a blue ribbon and a plaque for "Best Rate of Gain". In other words, the Fattest Cow Award.
"Steaky", McKenna's calf, weighed in at 457lbs. She received a blue ribbon also.

Brenden decided he was in the mood to ride a bull. Ride'm Cowboy!

The kids love little Ginger. She is a roudy addition to our family.
She definitely brings a lot of laughs and love.

I love this one! "Don't move Sucka"

Brenden and McKenna working with their cows in prep for fair. This was wash day. We have definitely learned to avoid the tail when it is wet. It's deadly! You will quickly learn how a fly feels.

Maren's funny!

So, Trent and I were getting ready to go to North Ogden to a baptism yesterday, and Maren runs in our room holding her nose. We slowly begin to chuckle. She then begins to tell that we need to get an "air compressor" for the car because it stinks. Trent and I chuckle even harder and had say "What do we need?" Maren responds once again with "the car stinks, we need an air compressor!" Maren, do you mean air freshener? "Yah, we need one those, cuz the car stinks!" Never a dull moment.

Where is the camera when you need it?

So Uncle Kim and Aunt Debbie, Taylor, Shawn and Dylan came in town from Reno this last week. We all got together at Uncle Matt and Aunt Penny's house in Salt Lake. They have a pool which we very much enjoyed at the get together. Maggie wanted to learn to dive, so we worked on it with her. With a little work, she got much better. Maren was so funny. She decided to "dive" also. This is a child who is fearless when it comes to water. She will jump in off a boat, side of a pool, matters not with or without a life jacket, because she knows how to swim, don't you know. Her dive was a literal front flip. Not kidding! I think she did it twenty times or more. It was the cutest thing. Maggie would dive into the deep end and swim to the other side, while Maren did front flips (dives). After that day of fun in the sun. We took our water-logged, red eyed children to Chuck-E-Cheese. We had a blast! My favorite part is watching Trent turn into a complete kid. It's the best. We had pizza, salad bar and played games. They redeemed their tickets and walked away with HUGE suckers and pop-rocks. Who could ask for more?

Cherry Hill

We went to Cherry Hill for the first time yesterday. We had a lot of fun. It was the first water park I have gone to that I wasn't watching the clock for when I could escape the madness. We went with the Tillotson's and the Korth's and fun enough we saw some other friends from North Ogden we hadn't seen in a long time. It was a good day. Good friends, good fun, who could ask for anything more?

Brenden's Aquatics Camp

4H is the best! Brenden was able to finish up Aquatics Camp at Mantua today. This the second camp he has done this summer. His first was robotics camp, where he was able to build and program robots. This time, he was able to build water rockets, go canoeing, learned to sail and was able to swim. He had so much fun. The best part was making new friends. One of the best things we could have ever done for our children was to enroll them in 4H. Great opportunities, friends and education. The fair is in five weeks. Where has time gone?

Funny Maren

Maren is so random. We were driving in the van on the way home from taking Brenden to scouts and here is the conversation:
Maren - When I get really tall, the mosquito's will suck my blood
Mommy - They can suck your blood now, even when you are small
Maren - I know, and I don't like when they put there long noses in my arm
She is such a cutie. She is so good at making us chuckle.
