Cherry Hill

We went to Cherry Hill for the first time yesterday. We had a lot of fun. It was the first water park I have gone to that I wasn't watching the clock for when I could escape the madness. We went with the Tillotson's and the Korth's and fun enough we saw some other friends from North Ogden we hadn't seen in a long time. It was a good day. Good friends, good fun, who could ask for anything more?

Brenden's Aquatics Camp

4H is the best! Brenden was able to finish up Aquatics Camp at Mantua today. This the second camp he has done this summer. His first was robotics camp, where he was able to build and program robots. This time, he was able to build water rockets, go canoeing, learned to sail and was able to swim. He had so much fun. The best part was making new friends. One of the best things we could have ever done for our children was to enroll them in 4H. Great opportunities, friends and education. The fair is in five weeks. Where has time gone?

Funny Maren

Maren is so random. We were driving in the van on the way home from taking Brenden to scouts and here is the conversation:
Maren - When I get really tall, the mosquito's will suck my blood
Mommy - They can suck your blood now, even when you are small
Maren - I know, and I don't like when they put there long noses in my arm
She is such a cutie. She is so good at making us chuckle.

So You Think You Can Dance!

Okay, I am not a blogger that gets into posting about shows, but I was deaply moved by last night performance. The Breast Cancer piece that Melissa and Ade did, choreographed by Tyse, was absolutely beautiful. I cried so hard watching the performance and then again while the judges critiqued it and then again as I rewound the DVR to watch it again. It never ceases to amaze me the impact music and dance can have in our lives. Hope you all got to watch it. I DVR'd the results show, so I am off to see who was voted off.

B-day pics and a day at the Salon

I posted Trent's birthday before he opened his presents. I was just too excited to be caught up on the blog. So, here are pictures of him opening his gifts. The little tag on his "Donut" cake reads: "Donut" ever forget how much we love you!

A good friend of mine is a cosmetology instructor at the WATC in Ogden. The girls love to go there to get there nails done. We decided to make a morning of it, so they had their nails and hair done and I got a pedicure. Here are some cute pictures of the girls getting pampered while my feet were in heaven:
Here is the final product. Pretty darn cute, wouldn't you say?

Happy 39th Birthday Daddy!

Today is Trent's 39th Birthday! Happy Birthday to the best husband and father I know. We love you and are so greatful for how hard you work for our family. Here are a few things that Trent
enjoys to do with what little spare time he has:

.

Lagoon

Well, it was that time of year again - Harmon's Days at Lagoon. One of the little perks with Trent still being on their payroll. We actually look forward to it every year. I think it is because it is the only day the kids can go treat happy. They provide all the brownies, watermelon, cotton candy, ice cream sandwiches, popsicles and soda pop you can eat. I do not enjoy the rides, Puff is about the only one I can handle. McKenna takes after me in that respect, but the other three definitely take after their father. They can't get enough of Wicked, Cliff Hanger and Colossus.

The Brenden, McKenna and Maggie spent five days with my parents in Star Valley, WY. I picked them up in Soda Springs. We went to the geyser that I did not even know existed. It is man made and goes off every hour.

Swimming lessons

The kids took swimming lessons June 29th to July 9th at the Bear River Nat. They loved it and had such a good time. The classes were so small. Maren's class only had two students and all the others had around four. It was so nice. Maggie is swimming! We are so proud of her. McKenna went off the high dive for the first time. It took a lot of coaxing from the crowd, who was rooting her on and $5 from Jen, but she is so proud of herself and wants everyone to know. Brenden is doing flips off everything. He is really improving his strokes. Maren is just our little fish. She has no fear what so ever. Given any chance, they would choose to swim, whenever, where ever.

Fourth of July, we spent here in Elwood. Trent ended up irrigating until 3am that morning, so needless to say he was way tired. We didn't get up and ready in time to make it up to Liberty Days as usual, so we decided to hit our towns, so that the kids weren't too disappointed. We had a really good time. They enjoyed the airplane candy drop, bingo and kids games. We had a really yummy breakfast, which I enjoyed, because I didn't have to cook it. The Mayor asked me if I would head up the Fourth of July next year and I told him no! He asked why and I told him, because I was told we couldn't do greased pigs and chicken chases. He told me could work it out, so here I am. I am really exited about it. We have a great family that is co-chairing it with me and numerous people from the area who are more than willing to help out. I think it is going to amazing! We have such an awesome community. There is no place like Elwood!
(I don't know where my picture file is for the Fourth of July. When I find them, I'll post them.)

Our Baby is FOUR!

Where has four years gone! Maren is now four. She had a fun water party in our backyard with ten great friends. (What was I thinking?) It turned out fun, but next year I think I may start all girl parties. I don't know if that will fly since she wants to marry the three boys that on either side of us and two houses down. Drama now starts at four. Happy Birthday, Maren! June 27, 2009
ALL-STARS
Brenden made all-stars! We are so proud of him. This was his first year playing baseball and he has done great. He had to make a not so tuff decision though. His scout camp overnighter was scheduled for the exact same days! July 17th and 18th. He decided he would rather go to camp.
There is always next year. July 1, 2009

A few fun pics of the kids, but don't get a stiff neck!

If anyone knows how to turn photos, call me!
I'll buy you a candy bar.

Ginger the Chugg

So, we have a cute new addition to family. We got her when she was 7 months old and potty-trained. I kind of need to use that term loosely. She has had a few accidents, but nothing like potty-training a puppy. I can't believe all the laughter this family has had since we got her. She is a crack up! She farts and it scares her. She flips around to where her butt would have been and looks around, like who just did that? It's hysterical. She chases her tail, plays fetch and knows how to sit. She is welcome addition. Someday, the Daddy is going to love her. (I hope:))

Summer Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really hate having to catch up like this! You would think I would have learned by now. So here it goes. We started summer off with our annual trip to the condo in Park City June 6th -13th.

Daddy's idea of Vacation!

Mommy's idea of Vacation!

Sure can't beat a week of swimming. It rained and rained, but the pool is an enclosed indoor/outdoor pool and they can put the exterior door up or down depending on the weather.
We did some school shopping at the outlets. Trent came down with pneumonia three days in and ended up going home because he was so sick. Aunt Holly came up and stayed at the last of the week and the Tillotson's came up during the middle of the week for an overnight stay.
