Here are our new girls!

Well, here they are. They picked out these glasses all by themselves and I think they did a really great job! Maren has to wear hers all the time and McKenna just needs to wear hers mainly in school. They each got two pairs (mainly for my sanity). Maren has on her "extra pair", because her Hannah Montana's didn't come in yet. I figured I would have already had trouble with her not wanting to wear them, but she is being great about them. McKenna has been on pins and needles to get hers. Today is much like Christmas.

Green and Gold Ball?

Does anyone remember when Green and Gold Ball's were around? (Me neither)

I was told they were really fun. Well, they are not only fun, but a blast! Our ward had one and everyone had a great time. I hope it becomes a tradition, because it was all the kids talked about for days!

Okay, so the girls and I were in talking this morning about Maren and her new glasses that are coming. (I am getting ready for my eye appointment. McKenna is home sick and her doctors appointment is after mine. ) McKenna starts asking why Maren needs glasses and it dawns on her that her needing to move her chair up from the back of the classroom to see the board is not normal. This is the first I have heard of her not being able to see well. I guess you don't know what you're missing when you haven't had it to begin with. So, needless to say, I gave up my eye exam to her. Surprise! McKenna now has glasses on order. Up until a week ago, we did not need EyeMed Insurance. Guess who will be adding it next year. I took Maggie in her eye exam 2 months ago because she was complaining she couldn't see and the doctor said her's wasn't even enough to correct. I told Brenden at the rate we are going I better get him in too. He told me he was Eagle Eyes and that he was just fine. Guess I'll just reschedule mine.

Yet again!

So, I woke up this morning with yet another persuasive essay. This time it was from McKenna. Yip, she wanted chicks too. She had $6 to spend, which equals two chicks. If anyone out there is really good at saying no, please contact me ASAP and teach me how.

I guess I spell NO - Y E S. I have to learn this now, because what's next? A persuasive essay on why I need a car? Help!

The count is now 4.5 horses, 2 cows, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 1 extra large bunny on steroids (which I forgot last time), 5 chicks and still 4 kids.

Oh, Sweet, I like to gross my Mom out and do cross-eyes, Maren failed her little kindergarten eye exam. I took her to the eye doctor yesterday and sure enough, she is going to be wearing the cutest little pink Hannah Montana glasses. They should be here in a week. She had fun picking them out. She was insistent that they be pink. I told her as long as she will wear them, she could pick whatever color she wanted. I'll post cute little pictures as soon as her glasses come in. I am shocked we don't have more wearing glasses with Trent and I having such bad eyes.

We have not only visited the eye doctor this week, but made three visits to the dentist, and it is only Wednesday. I had my 6 month check up and Brenden and Maggie had fillings. Tomorrow, is another eye appointment and then I hope we are done for a while. Our medical savings account would like to rest from its recent work out.

Funny Brenden

Okay, so here is how the conversation went.

"Hey Mom, do we have one of those baby monitor things so you can hear when a baby cries?"

"I don't think we do"

"We should find one. Do you think it would reach to the barn for when Sienna has the baby?"

(Laughing hysterically, I couldn't help the comment) " Yah, but Brenden, it isn't going to cry when its born."

Following a good smack on my shoulder " No duh, but you might be able to hear all the neighing."

He also wrote me a PERSUASIVE essay as to why he should be aloud to buy chicks to do for the fair. What? Who does that? Three quarters of a page. Who could say no to that! He found some he wanted to buy up in Riverside. We have put so much money into the steer out back, that I couldn't stomach putting money into anything else that can't hold a conversation with me. I told him he had to pay for them all on his own. He had ten dollars and the chicks were $4.00 each. He wanted three. He called the guy himself and asked if he would take 3 for $10. The guy said "yes" and now we have 4.5 horses, 2 cows, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 3 Bantam Welsumer chicks and 4 kids. Why can't I say NO?

We're Having A BABY!

We are having a baby! This little boy or girl is due any day now. Our oldest mare, Sienna is going to be a first time mom. It is fun to watch her bell roll with baby. We bred both mares and one took. All I can say is,"I'm soooooo glad it isn't me. She looks miserable! She looks like a butterball on toothpick legs.

Little miss Maren drives me crazy with her cross-eyes. She does it just to gross me out!

No this is not a dog or a cat. It is a bunny! The kids got Fluffy last year for Easter and she is massive. She weighs more than Ginger the dog.

Back in the Groove!

Well, after contracting a nasty Rogue Virus and 16 Trojans, our old computer got really sick. Therefore, we have a new computer. We bought an Apple and LOVE it! I had just bought Photoshop 8 for the old computer and and was overwhelmed with how to use it. This one came with IPhoto. It is the easiest thing to use. I am crop happy! I love the vignette option and the color enhancing features. I'm sure eventually the novelty will wear off, but right now I am doing it to everything! Err go the photos.

Yesterday, March 3, Brenden had his first Orchestra concert. He did really well, even if he squeaked a couple times.

Aunt Holly and Uncle Dave came up on 27th and we had a good visit. The girls usually love to put "Pretties" in Holly's hair, but this time they were a little more creative. Pretty much, anything they could find. You are such a good sport Aunt Holly.

February 17 was our towns Ski Night. Brenden usually snowboards, but chose to try skiing. I think I only heard him say once that he wish he would have. McKenna and Maggie skied for the first ever. They did amazing! They took an hour and fifteen minute lesson and became pros.

While the other kids skied, Maren and I stayed in lodge and visited with friends.

We had out annual Florence Family First Sunday dinner get together on February 7th.

Holly asked me to bring the camera and snap some pictures of Peyton. I'm far from a pro, but I thought I got some cute ones. Maggie decided she needed to wear the Tu-Tu also and McKenna was just her normal Diva self. Maren was all dressed up for a mascaraed ball.
