I almost forgot Christmas Eve!

We always use to spend Christmas Eve with my Grandma Rutherford my parents. My parents were out of town and now that she has passed and my brother Keven lives up here now, we spent it with his family and my Grandpa Lindsay.

We gave my niece Savannah an industrial box of Mac-n-cheese. She loves the stuff!
McKenna got a PJ's and a Yorkie purse

Maren got PJ's and a puppy purse.

Brenden got PJ"s and a Webkins bulldog.

Maggie opened her annual PJ's and this year a Pug purse.

Savannah and Ariah opening her book we gave her.

Grandpa Lindsay and the personalized doormat we gave his for Christmas.

Maggie and my great-niece Ariah.

McKenna and Ariah.

McKenna and my great-nephew Kyler.

Ready for bed in new jammies!

My Mom and Dad got Trent and I this beautiful picture of the Jordan River Temple. Thirteen years ago, that is where our story began.

Another Wonderful Christmas! Ho, Ho, Ho

What a fun, lazy Christmas. We started opening at 7:30 am, had breakfast at 9:00am and didn't go anywhere the whole day. This is the first time in 13 years of marriage that we haven't gone anywhere. We sure broke in the four-wheeler. The kids had a blast being pulled around the field. Here is a summary of what we received:
McKenna got a boom box, clothes and DS games
Brenden got a lego set, clothes, alarm clock and PSP games

Maggie got an American Girl doll and clothes, Pictureka and clothes
Maren got an American Girl Bitty Baby and clothes, Barbie movie and clothes
Mommy got her first SLR camera and a Fossil wallet and purse
Daddy got a Pheasant mounted, two church DVD's and a new rasp for doing horse shoes

Ginger got a bag of dog bones which she was very protective over.

At least it wasn't stitches this time!

Trent plays pickup once a week with his buddies from North Ogden. Every once in while (too often) he gets hurt. Usually it requires stitches. This time, however, it was a really good ankle roll. We went to E.R. at 11:30 pm, after he drove himself home from North Ogden. Yes, he still thinks basketball is worth it. He's a die hard!

Got Milk?

So, NOT the best day I have ever had. I can definitely think of funner. McKenna called me to pick her up from school saying that her throat hurt. Oh, I think I forgot to mention the part where I got Maren settled in front of the TV and me in a nice warm bath with a really good book. Then the phone rang.
The mail came. So I asked McKenna if she wanted to get it. Maren ran screaming to the garage, saying she wanted to. We thought she was maybe grabbing her shoes, so McKenna and I waited by the front door for too long thinking Maren would be right back. Somewhere in the get the mail part, Maren heard MILK. So, we are at the front door while my four year old is trying to get a gallon of milk off the top shelf of the fridge in the garage. Have you ever wondered how many rolls of paper towels it takes to clean up a shattered gallon of milk on a garage floor? 2, two, dos, da no matter how you spell it or pronounce it, it takes two. I prefer Bounty Select-a-Size, but in this case you select the whole size, yip the hole roll times two. Did I mention the great radius of the splatter? Quite fascinating actually.
The day was topped by a twelve year old tantrum of not wanting to take piano lessons anymore. "It is not fair that Dad makes me take piano, even if I hate it, all because his parents let him quite and he wished they wouldn't have let him." How do you argue with that argument? You don't. You let the Dad take over after you fire yourself the instant he walks through the door. Try it sometime. It's quite freeing. For two minutes.
Pictures? If you think for two second I took pictures, your sadly mistaken. This was not one of my best days. I think we were all crying over spilled milk. Nope, no pictures here.
I hope to be laughing about this tomorrow. I know all of you will be. Huh Rachel?

Brenden's 12th Birthday

We have a 12 year old! How is that possible? Time really does fly by when you're having fun. What a great kid he is too. We are so proud of young man he has become. He is so excited to receive the Priesthood. Next year, we will be dealing with a teenager!
Here is a little walk through memory lane with Brenden:
7 years old and doing what he loves with his Father.

8 years old and being Baptised.

9 years old and being hauled off for the spankings and pinch to grow an inch on.

Insert pretend 10 year birthday picture HERE. Daddy had the camera while on his Buffalo hunt. I will spare you gory pictures.

11 years old and still loving John Deere tractors.

12 years old and Mom forgot to buy candles. So he gets to pretend he is blowing out his Tech Deck Dude

OOH! What's this?

The PSP he has wanted forever. Little does he know all we can afford for him for Christmas after that is ....................a rock from the garden. We would still have to pay for coal.

Happy Birthday! You will always be our favorite son!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Halloween

Maren's Preschool went to our local corn maze for some hair raising fun. This is a picture of the little spook and her friends. Maren's the Elephant. Nice thing about a bin full of Halloween costume's is the fact that you can change your mind if you would like. On Halloween, she was insistent she be a pumpkin. Ergo the picture below.
Brenden was a: Napoleon Dynamite, Vote for Pedro loving, rodeo clown
McKenna was a: Dead Bride
Maggie was a: Vampire
Maren was a: Pumpkin
