Fun things to do during a power outage!

Wow, Memorial weekend was quite exciting this year. During a nice storm Sunday, lightening struck the nearby sub-station blowing out half the transformers. We were without power from 1:00pm Sunday afternoon until 6:45pm Monday night. We are so blessed to live in such a fabulous area. Our neighbors brought us a generator to run the freezers.

Here is a list of fun things you can do during a power outage:

Play with friends

Play in the water

Read a book

Stare at the mound of dishes that just keep piling up in the sink, because hey! we live in the 21 century and who washes dishes by hand anymore. That's what dishwashers are for. :)

Eat out

Close the door to laundry room, cause it is starting to smell in there.

Visit with neighbors

Use up all your cell phone minutes, cause your cordless phones are useless

Watch your three year old try to turn the TV on for the 579th time

Breed your stud horse to your father-in-laws mare :)

Wish you were the Roberts who have a full house generator

Order your own generator

Play card by candlelight

Watch the Tillotson's come home late Sunday night and laugh when their car sits in the driveway for a good two minutes and you know they are just pushing the garage door opener a million times.

Reseed the back pasture

Listen to your children tell you over and over and over how they wish the power was on.

Miss every show you DVR'd

Watch your neighbor caulk his concrete driveway and wish you had one to caulk

Listen to the joyous screams of your children when the power does come on.

Return the borrowed generator and extension cords

Fluffy Maren and Bunny

2 cows, 3 horses, 1 dog, 1 cat, 1 bunny, 4 children
and 1 husband. Yip, I think that constitutes a ZOO!

Maggie's Birthday (a little late)

Our Little Maggie's is growing up!

Maggie turned 7 on the 18th of April. Happy Birthday MAGGIE!

All her friends that came to her party.

They decorated sun-visors, played pin the purse on the diva and duck-duck-goose.

McKenna had a funny!

It was so cute Sunday in Sacrament meeting. McKenna leans over after the bread goes by and says "Why do they have to break it? Can't they just give us a slice!" Oh, the joy of Motherhood. I wouldn't trade it for the world, or the $133,000 a year salary Emily says that mothers jobs would pay in the work world. (Although, some days, a paycheck would be nice.)

Funnies

Maren and Maggie said or did a few funny things this last week. I just had to post them. Maren had a talk in Primary. I was whispering in her ear the things to say. We get to the "so we can live with Heavenly Father again" part, and she said Heavenly Father. I said "again", and she said Heavenly Father. I said, no, say the word "again" and she said Heavenly Father. I gave up!

I shopped ONLINE at Children's Place. (They had amazing deals and with the online discount code, each item was $4.00 each.) anyway, the box came yesterday. I bought them all the same outfit. (You would think I had triplets. I do that a lot!) Only McKenna got an extra outfit only in a different a color. Maggie wanted to know why she didn't get it too. I told her I had the outfit in the shopping cart for her, but I didn't buy it in time and it was taken out of my cart, because someone else paid for it before I did. With a serious face, she turns around and I asked if I saw who it was that took it out of my cart. She thought that was pretty rude! I then had to explain that it wasn't physically take out of my cart and had to explain how the whole online shopping thing works.

KIDS ARE FUNNY!

A quick catch-up! I need to get back in the groove.

Century Elementary had its annual Egg Drop. The kid used a roll of toilet paper, packing peanuts and tape, all packaged nicely into a box. As you can see, it survived! They did such a great job. There were two airplanes that made about eight passes each. They would drop the eggs and we would watch them hit and bounce on the ground. They probably dropped 300 feet.

We had an Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma and Grandpa Florence's. Here was the good time!

During our post-Christmas sledding day with the Florence side of the family, Uncle Dave was at the bottom of the hill taking the jump pictures. These were well worth the wait.

The first picture is of Kelic on the front and Brenden in the rear with a huge grin. The next one is of Holly with McKenna on the front. I'm not sure her eyes opened until they landed. Talk about some serious air!
